Local baby a spina bifida pioneer ~~ Prenatal surgery to repair
spine in womb
Natalie Goolsby just wanted extra reassurance that her third baby
was healthy and had two kidneys when she insisted on a special 3-D
ultrasound in her 18th week of pregnancy.
A standard test for neural tube defects had already come back
normal, and previous ultrasounds showed the baby was developing on
schedule.

Lending a hand ~~ Sweet treats a good mix
Holiday cheer and sweet treats go hand in hand. And clients from
the Association for Retarded Citizens used their hands Monday to mix
and bake delicious confections for Christmas during a cooking class
at Sweet Granny's Cookies & Coffee, Gift Baskets & Jellies in
O'Neil.
Smiles and laughter emerged from the group as they coated
miniature rolling pins with flour, flattened small batches of dough
and cut the dough with Christmas tree-shaped cookie cutters.
